The Irish serial number appears first followed, respectively, by the proprietor’s name, the date of filing of the application, the filing number and the European Patent Office publication number. If the specification of the European patent was published in French or German the word ‘French’ or ‘German’, as appropriate, will appear as the last item of information. In such cases, it is necessary to file a translation in English and pay the prescribed fee, within six months of the publication date of the grant, in order that the patent may continue to have effect.
