The newly revised Anti-Unfair Competition Law of the People's Republic of China will officially come into effect on October 15, 2025. This law is intended to promote the sound development of the socialist market economy by encouraging and safeguarding fair competition.

It clearly defines specific types of unfair competition, including acts of confusion, commercial bribery, false advertising, infringement of trade secrets, and illegal prize promotions, among others. The revised law also strengthens the regulation of unfair competition in the digital sphere.

In addition, it improves investigative measures and the legal liability system, increasing penalties for violations. These enhancements provide a stronger legal foundation for maintaining market order and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of both businesses and consumers.
