EUIPO is hosting a conference on 20-21 November 2025 at the EUIPO premises in Alicante to celebrate the launch of the EUIPO Copyright Knowledge Centre. The event will feature discussions on the suitability of copyright in the digital age, copyright law’s ability to protect creativity, and building a copyright infrastructure that effectively tackles threats and challenges that next generations of creators face in the age of generative AI. WIPO announced the 2nd edition of the Global Research Experts Meeting on Improving Women’s Participation in Innovation, Creativity, and IP. The meeting will be held on 24-25 November 2025 at WIPO Headquarters in Geneva, and young researchers are invited to submit papers on any topic related to IP rights and/or innovation and creativity, particularly those that adopt a policy-oriented, empirical, experimental, qualitative, or economic modelling approach. WIPO published a report in which it explored how IP driven innovation and creativity might evolve by 2034. It aims to guide WIPO Member States and stakeholders in understanding current trends, getting prepared for medium- to long-term challenges that might impact the IP system, and seizing the opportunities that may follow. Europol and EUIPO published an updated report highlighting scammers’ evolving tactics and trends and demonstrating the increase in fraudulent activities targeting IP rightsholders and applicants.
