The letter highlights the rise of unauthorized online streaming and its impact on businesses, viewers, and the public economy.

ACT stresses the need for effective legislative and technological measures to ensure the timely removal of illegal content and to address platforms that distribute live events without authorization. The aim is to protect creativity and innovation while ensuring legal and high-quality content for viewers.

The letter is signed by organizations from the television, video-on-demand, sports, and cultural sectors, as well as professional associations and unions representing the European live broadcast industry.
