On the morning of July 4, the 2026 Patent Agent Qualification Examination began simultaneously in 33 examination cities across the Chinese mainland and in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, with more than 45,000 candidates registered for the examination. Hu Wenhui, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), visited the CNIPA examination command center and the Beijing Haidian examination station to inspect the organization of the examination on site, heard reports from the Office of the Examination Committee on examination administration, contingency plans and candidate services, and focused on examination room order, examination management, technical support and security arrangements.

The examination lasts two days, with 53 examination stations and 669 examination rooms set up, and more than 4,000 people across the country taking part in examination service and support work to ensure the smooth running of the examination.
