To thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on education and important instructions on intellectual property work, the China National Intellectual Property Administration and the Ministry of Education recently jointly held a national training course for IP teaching faculty of higher-education institutions in Beijing. Responsible officials from the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and the Department of Personnel of CNIPA attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks. Nearly 70 front-line teachers from Tsinghua University, Peking University and other universities took part.

The course focused on “three emphases” in curriculum design and invited senior experts and scholars to teach. First, emphasizing policy communication, it offered interpretation of relevant content of the 15th Five-Year Plan; second, emphasizing practice orientation, it included courses on cultivating foreign-related talent and industry-education integrated teaching; third, emphasizing frontier trends, it responded to new requirements for talent development in fields such as artificial intelligence. Participants said the training both resolved conceptual questions and imparted classroom methods, helping leverage strengths, consolidate foundations, address weaknesses and reinforce shortfalls.

This was CNIPA’s first dedicated training in recent years targeting higher-education faculty, and an important measure to implement the work on “strengthening IP talent development” in the Plan for IP Protection and Utilization during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Through deepened training, it will provide strong talent support for a good start to IP work in the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
