On 16 October, the “Energy Storage and Intellectual Property Utilization and Protection Strategy Forum” of the 2026 World Energy Storage Conference was held in Ningde, Fujian. The forum focused on IP risks, compliance management and sustainable competition pathways amid rapid global expansion of the energy storage industry, with in-depth dialogue and practical sharing on patent layout strategies, judicial protection practice and overseas market risk response.

At the forum, the Advanced Power Battery and Energy Storage Industry Intellectual Property Operation Centre formally released the Global Energy Storage Industry Intellectual Property Development Analysis Report (2026). Based on massive global patent data, the report presents a panoramic view of the industry’s technology trajectory and competitive landscape, providing important data support for sustainable development of the energy storage sector.

The forum further consolidated industry consensus on safeguarding energy storage innovation through IP. Intellectual property will continue to empower energy storage technology innovation and inject strong momentum into China’s energy storage industry as it participates in global competition and pursues high-quality sustainable development.
