How the One-stop shop works: creating a French business

  • Before completing the formality, the declarant can be supported in their project by the CCI and accounting and legal professionals (accountants, lawyers, notaries, etc.).

  • The declarant submits their creation request (entry, signature, payment) via the One-stop shop. The contact at this stage is the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).

  • The request for creation is sent to INSEE, which pre-assigns the SIREN number. The contact at this stage is INSEE.

  • The formality is transferred by the One-stop shop to the competent authorities. The contact at this stage is the INPI.

  • The formality is examined and validated by the competent authority. The contact at this stage is the competent authority corresponding to the type of activity carried out: the INPI for liberal activities, the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA) for agricultural activities, the Chamber of Trades and Crafts (CMA) for artisanal activities and the Commercial Court Registries for commercial activities.

  • Once your business creation file has been validated by the competent authority, your company is registered by the One-Stop Shop. The contact at this stage is the INPI.

  • This information will be entered by the One-stop shop in the National Business Register (RNE) and thus transmitted to the Regional Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP) and to Urssaf. How the One-stop shop works: modification of a French company

  • Before completing the formality, the declarant can be supported in their project by the CCI and accounting and legal professionals (accountants, lawyers, notaries, etc.).
